State of Humanoid Robot Deployments 2026
A data-backed 2026 report on humanoid robot deployments, companies, maturity, countries, industries, funding signals, and what is still hype versus evidence.
What the deployment data says in 2026
As of October 11, 2026, Biped.News tracks 16 deployment records plus 21 headquarters, factory, or operations records in the same canonical map dataset. The distinction matters: an operations pin is not counted here as proof that a customer is using a humanoid robot. The current evidence still describes an early market dominated by pilots, tightly scoped production work, and announced programs rather than broad fleet replacement.
Deployment maturity
Biped classifies map records by the strongest public evidence available. Production, pilot, and testing labels describe the evidence state of a specific site or program; they do not imply equivalent fleet size, autonomy, uptime, or commercial economics.
| Status | Records | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Pilot | 10 | Named trials, early access, or customer-site tests with limited scope. |
| Testing | 4 | Testing, research, or pre-commercial site evidence. |
| Production | 2 | Highest-signal operating records; still evaluated record by record. |
13 deployment records still have limited or unknown public safety evidence. 8 records currently use the strongest evidence-state labels in the generated dataset, while the remainder retain explicit caveats about announcements, first-party claims, customer identity, or operating scope.
Where documented deployments are concentrated
The country counts below are derived from deployment pins only. They intentionally exclude headquarters and factory-only pins so a new manufacturing site cannot be mistaken for a customer deployment.
| Country | Deployment records |
|---|---|
| USA | 11 |
| China | 2 |
| Germany | 2 |
| Canada | 1 |
Methodology and limitations
Biped.News joins robot, company, deployment, safety, funding, and article relationships from shared canonical data. A record stays announced, testing, or pilot-level until stronger public evidence justifies a higher status. Named sites and customers are preferred; manufacturer claims remain labeled as such; undisclosed fleet size, uptime, intervention rate, and safety performance remain undisclosed instead of being estimated.
This report is a map of public evidence, not a census of every robot in service. Companies may operate confidential pilots, and public announcements can lead actual deployment by months or years. Counts therefore measure documented records rather than installed-unit totals. Readers should open the underlying map record and primary source before using a row for procurement, investment, or safety decisions.
