12 of 13 Tracked Humanoid Deployments Are Still Pilots or Tests
Biped.News reviewed 13 current core humanoid deployment and test records in its canonical map: nine are pilots, three are testing records, and only one is classified as production.
12 of 13 current records are pilot or testing stage.
Commercial humanoid work is real, but it is not yet the typical maturity level in the current tracker. Twelve of thirteen core site/program records remain pilots, tests, demonstrations, or announced pilot programs; GXO and Agility Robotics are the single production-status exception in this snapshot.
Current Biped.News deployment-map records with pinType=deployment, excluding Dexterity Mech because it is explicitly external context rather than a core humanoid profile and excluding the unprofiled Mind Robotics platform. Headquarters and factory/operations pins are not counted.

Methodology
- 1. Take the current Biped.News deployment-map snapshot as of August 8, 2026 and consider only records whose pinType is deployment.
- 2. Exclude records explicitly labeled external-context or unprofiled. That removes Dexterity Mech, a non-core adjacent system, and Mind Robotics, whose robot platform is not publicly profiled. Headquarters, factories, and operations pins are also excluded.
- 3. Preserve the canonical status field exactly: pilot, testing, or production. Keep evidence state separate, so an announced future pilot is not silently upgraded to current operating evidence.
- 4. Use production only for a current record describing sustained useful work in an operating customer environment. A demo, endurance test, announced rollout, training facility, or bounded pilot remains non-production even when technically impressive.
- 5. Count one canonical site/program record, not robots shipped or total fleet units. The chart is therefore a maturity distribution of tracked evidence records, not an estimate of the global installed base.
Limitations
- This is a current canonical-map snapshot, not a census of every humanoid deployment worldwide. Private customer programs and weakly sourced claims may be absent.
- Historical deployments are not automatically counted as current records. Figure 02 completed substantial BMW production work in 2025 and was later retired; the current Figure 03 BMW record is a new pilot-stage program.
- Production status does not prove positive unit economics, high autonomy, low intervention rates, or broad fleet scale. Those require separate evidence.
- The absence of a production-status record for a company does not prove it has no paying customers; it means the current public evidence in this tracker does not meet the production-status threshold for a site/program record.
